What PS2 does
A shutdown is thousands of activities, hundreds of crews with different competencies, a handful of cranes, complex isolations, permit windows and a fixed production restart date. PS2 holds all of it in one mathematical model and solves for the schedule that meets the deadline with the least risk.
Shorter, de-risked shutdowns
PS2 searches every feasible sequence of your shutdown scope for the one that meets the production restart deadline with the least schedule risk. Isolations, permit windows, workfront clashes and high-risk work are constraints in the model rather than checks made afterwards, so conflicting jobs are never scheduled to clash and the optimal schedule is a safe one by design.
Efficient plans and presentation
The schedule comes back as a plant heatmap, a system-by-system Gantt, resource-loading charts and a Sankey of where the work flows. A plan a superintendent can read in a meeting, not just the planner who built it.
Empower your team
PS2 takes on the heavy maths - the thousands of interacting tasks, resources and constraints - so your planners spend their time on judgement calls: which trade-off to make, which risk to accept, which scope to defer. It works alongside your ERP, SAP and the like, and pulls in the maintenance orders your team already keeps there.
A model that grows
The first shutdown builds the model: your plant structure, your systems, your resources and your rules. Every shutdown after that starts from it, so re-planning a changed scope or testing a what-if is a re-solve, not a rebuild. Once established, building and optimising new scenarios is rapid.
How it works
Under the hood is the same engine as every Ponco product: Mixed-Integer, Linear and Constraint Programming, solving for a provably optimal schedule rather than a merely feasible one. If you want the mechanics, start with what a solver actually does and how mathematical optimisation applies to a shutdown.
Inside the product
Plant heatmap
Work status overlaid on the aerial plant layout, so a shutdown can be walked area by area and a hot spot is seen before it is felt.
Execution dashboard
Every system on one Gantt across the reporting period, with today's line drawn through it.
Resource utilisation
Demand for each trade against its shift cap, shutdown-wide, so an over-allocation shows in the plan before it costs a day on site.
Resource flow
A Sankey of how crews and equipment move through the plant's systems over the outage.
Edit and explore
The order editor, the Gantt and the system schematic side by side: change scope, re-solve, compare the scenarios.
Who it is for
Turnaround managers, shutdown planners and maintenance superintendents running major outages at process plants, refineries, mines and mineral processing sites - anyone who has to promise a restart date and defend it. Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services with role-based access and per-client encryption, and everything ships as one all-inclusive annual subscription covering hosting, licence, maintenance and support.
If your scheduling problem is a rail network rather than a plant outage, see Ponco Rail and Logistics. If it is neither, the same engine is behind the bespoke solutions we build.
